Ancestor Square

Our first Opportunity Zone Fund, The St. George Opportunity Fund, has acquired over 20 units within the historic downtown of St. George, Utah, located in Ancestor Square.

Ancestor Square sits on the corner of Main and St. George Boulevard.  It consists of a collection of offices, retail space, galleries, and restaurants, and was established in 1979.  It was built around two historic landmarks – the 1860 Hardy House, home to Sheriff Hardy, and the 1880 St. George jail, which are both nestled in the courtyard of Ancestor Square.  The businesses that call Ancestor Square “home” include design studios, galleries, top-rated eateries, real estate and development firms, and the Downtown Farmer’s Market. Known as the “Art and Soul of St. George”, Ancestor Square is as much an experience as it is a destination.

Southern Utah is among the nation’s most vibrant and fastest-growing communities. Set in one of the most picturesque settings in the world, St. George is home to national and state parks, many outdoor recreational opportunities, and Dixie State University, a regional state university.

Our Fund has been completing substantial improvements to the Ancestor Square assets, bringing in fantastic new tenants, and life into the heart of downtown.  These improvements are allowing the Fund to draw quality tenants that value the location and amenities offered at Ancestor Square and are contributing to the revitalization of the area.
